Diplomacy: The art of letting someone have your way.
- Daniele Vare
The “New Dawn of American leadership.”
I thought the diplomacy quote was particularly appropriate during this week of announcements on the direction diplomacy will take during the Obama Administration. Here’s a few articles reporting on the team:
- Obama stresses diplomacy with new national security team (Los Angeles Times)
- Obama expects conflict within new security team after confirming Clinton choice (Times Online)
- Obama’s team of stars: Can he manage it? Some inner-circle conflict can be of help to a president, but building a sense of teamwork will be key. (Christian Science Monitor)
- Across the globe, a cautious welcome for Clinton (International Herald Tribune)
- Obama seeks balanced foreign team (BBC)
- U.S. experts see no major change in U.S. policy toward China (Xinhua)
- Obama confirma a Hillary Clinton como secretaria de Estado (EL PAÍS)
- L’équipe Obama : pragmatisme et consensus (Le Monde)
On an somewhat related note, diplomacy also helps grease the wheels of project management. Can you just imagine “Cowboy Project Management?” I wonder how successful that would be.
